"Let him who has understanding reckon the number of the beast, its number is six hundred and sixty-six." (Revelation 13:16-18 RSV)
The great city of Rockwell has fallen, none survived to tell its sad story-how could
Rockwell, the wealthiest most successful city of England die so quietly?
Pale bodies were spread all over town, the look of terror still burned onto their faces
The thing that did this could not be human.
"Milord we can not send our entire army to fight an invisible fight! These are nothing but rumors!" said Thomas, a small man with long grey hair "People are scared Thomas! Rockwell is just a couple of towns away, we can not ignore this situation" replied king Douglas while he was scratching his beard "But sir, even if the rumors are true, we can't possibly know the location of the thing responsible for that massacre, this is just-it's just insane!" "Watch your tong Thomas, if you're willing to keep it in place! We're not leaving without a plan, The Reds told me a similar case happened in forest Shroob two days ago, the beast may still be around that area" "The Reds?!" flinched Thomas "my king! Have you forgotten the horror they brought to Murdock? How they sold us out just a month after the blood alliance was made, and the drops of red still drenched through the holly papers?" "Leaders have changed during the decade Thomas, yesterday's foe can be tomorrow's friend, and The Reds are an important allies to our kingdom" "It doesn’t matter how many decades have passed; no decade will bring my brother back! They sold dozens of lives for a pile of gold!" "Thomas, I miss Erik as much as you do, but refusing a helping hand will not bring him back to us, it's our duty to step on our pride and forget the past, for the sake of the kingdom" Thomas swallowed his spit, there was no point to argue with that statement "Very well then, I'll set the army in an hour's time" "Good, and set my armor as well" Thomas was surprised "Sir I'm sure our people will be fine and-" "I swore to protect this land Thomas, and I'm not going to stand aside while my men, good men, are sent to the battlefield"
"That was pathetic, come back when you'll learn how to hold a sword without cutting your own leg off" said Nicolay, his sword pointing towards his newest victim, his long, brown hair bouncing in the wind "fine! You win just let me go!" as this knight tripped over himself trying to escape, the crowd was going wild for Nicolay, the prince of Murdock-it was a long time since the prince battled, mostly because of his reputation, his skills were known all over England, therefore it was rare to find someone so ignorant to challenge him, Nicolay was so seldom challenged that he offered his crown for anyone who could defeat him, no one would have guessed that this limey bloke fondling the ground is actually El Duamicio, the famous sword man from Spain.
Nicolay waved proudly towards his people, but then his smile fell quicker then El Duamicio, between the heads of his cheerful audience Nicolay could see the Murdock army leaving through the city gates riding horses and leading the way was his father, the king.
Nicolay scrambled his way through the mob "Father! What the hell is going on?" he demanded, the king refused to make eye contact with his son "security of Murdock Nicolay, stand aside" that’s odd, thought Nicolay, Murdock is a peaceful kingdom, it wouldn't attack another city if there is another choice, unless…"is this about the rumors from the west?" the king stopped his horse, still insisting to avoid the eyes of his son "we'll be back by the third sunrise, if we wont find what we're looking for, we'll come back" "then let me come with you Father!" the king knew this was unavoidable "you're staying here boy, and that’s the final word" "but I can aid you in your quest! The grim reaper would not dare to touch me, for I am the best swordsman of the land!" he said proudly, the king turn to face his son, he took out his sword and point it towards Nicolay "second to best, and don’t let me prove it" Nicolay was still, the king returned his saber to its scabbard and said "very well then, take good care of the kingdom while I'm gone son" the king grimaced in an honest smile ", I trust your abilities Nicolay, come my troops!" he called to his forces, they all yawped in ecstasy and rode through the bronze city gates towards the setting sun, the orange of sundown filled Murdock, as its stood hollowed without its king.
The next couple of days were pretty tense for Murdock; the city was standing bare without its king and half of its army men, like a tortoise without a shell, the citizens were starting to spread baseless rumors about the Greece empire armies, which are supposedly on its way to demolish Murdock.
"Sir, what should we do about those rumors?" Thomas asked his new master "Well, rumors are rumors right? Just let them pass until father returns" Nicolay replayed "indeed, but I'm afraid this situation will not be kind for your popularity among the people, if you show them you sympathize with their concerns you might be remembered as the one who took care of them in the hour of need" suggested Thomas "hmmm.. I guess I can do something to ease them..." "May I ask what kind of thing sir?"
"Man! You got to love that Nico-guy ha?" said a stocky man to its fellow "yea!' Booze fest. 1332!'What a –hic- thoughtful idea!" he replayed as both of the drunken men cheered, and half of the kingdom was sharing their joy, a big sign was hanging proudly, its golden letters bounce in the moonlight 'The first booze festival 1332!' people were dancing, singing and drunk as sailors "s-sir are you sure this was a wise decision?" scram Thomas over the marry people heads "Ha! Drown your worries away that what I always say! Relax; try to have yourself a good time for-" all of a sudden, a wounded man in armor, wearing the Murdock colors on his chest burst through the mob "p-prince Nicolay!" he yelled "We.. We lost... your father, he's…" the man fell to the ground, cold and dead.
Nicolay felt his heart beating fester and fester, the licker effect was no more this couldn’t be true, it mustn't "Thomas! Were did my father took his troops to? Tell me!"
"They went to Forest Shroob milord but -" Nicolay ran to the stables, he picked the fastest stallion of the kingdom and rode through the city gates and on to the night, leaving behind everything but a horse, his loyal sword and vengeance in his heart.
Nicolay was well known with forest shroob, everyone did, but only few dared to visit it, and even fewer returned-for it is known that the creatures of the forest are not fond of the unexpected, the only civilized community in the forest (thou most people will disagree with that term) were The Reds; the children of the trees, their history is as vague as their culture, some say they are a company of witchcraft, some say they are a voodoo cult and some even dared to say they are just fruity hooligans who are begging for attention (but even these brave souls only whispered that between four walls) the thing everybody knew for sure was that The Reds were bad news.
Until one day, twenty years ago, the new king of Murdock Douglas was standing before a very tough decision-the Greece forces were heading towards England, and the kings and rulers of the region needed stand unite and strong to repel them, therefore young king Douglas did what no king dared to do before him-unaccompanied, he left Murdock to seek allies within Forest Shroob.
No one but the king knew how he could convince such self scented hooligans to fight for the motherland, but he did, and many will say that The Reds were the key of wining the war, with the renewed reputation of war heroes The Reds gained new respect among the people, but that did not last long, for only few weeks later, a small group of Greece troops that escaped the great battle were heading secretly towards Murdock, and just before sunrise they swarm at the dwelling of civilians, burning houses to dust, killing men women and children, by the time the army could pull themselves together dozens were dead.
King Douglas was furious for this shameless attack and demanded his people to bring him one of the soldiers alive, after a well disserved torture the trooper told the king that the remaining of the Greece army hided within forest shroob and a week later they found the society of The Reds, who gladly told them the location of Murdock for small amount of rubies.
Thomas then entered the room and told the king the worse news he heard that night, his wife Gloria was killed in the riot and left him alone with Nicolay, their month-old baby, the king roared in agony, he swung his sword and decapitated the soldiers head.
It's been about four hours since Nicolay left the kingdom, but Nicolay don’t need to eat, he doesn't need to sleep, he has to save his father at all cost.
As Nicolay went farther and farther from Murdock he discovered new landscapes, rivers, mountains and vegetation were views you were unlikely to see on Murdock territory, and Nicolay was just entering another sight you don’t see everyday-a demolished city of ancient, broken statues of angles decorated the town and the rising sun reviled the sad beauty of the ruins , this place felt somewhat surreal as if it is sitting on a cloud, just when Nicolay decided to move on his way, a strange figure was standing in his way, blocking his horse from moving any forward, it was a tall man wearing an indigo metallic armor which doesn’t reviles an inch of bare skin, purple feathers ornamented his cloak and on the right side of his chest was a peculiar sign of an eagle starching out his wings "who the hell are you?" asked Nicolay "I'm afraid I'm yet to reveal my identity prince Nicolay, you may call me Amethyst if you wish" answered the man mysteriously "look, I don’t have time for this nonsense! And if you know who I am you must also know of my reputation standing aside will be the rational move for I am the best swordsman of the land" said Nicolay "second to best" said the man and pulled out a sword whom which Nicolay never seen before, it had an indigo-metallic color, its hilt was shaped as a crucifix and its blade was at least four feet long, Amethyst ran towards Nicolay, his enormous sword drawn and ready for the sparks of battle, Nicolay jumped off his horse and drew his saber as well, running towards the mystery man, all it needed was the clash of the two swords to awake the beast inside of Nicolay's heart, as the two struggle with their swords Nicolay try to kick Amethyst off, but as he did so the armored man caught his leg before he could do anything and threw him to the air, Nicolay stabilized by sticking his sword in the ground and bounced back in to the fight, this time he was aiming for Amethyst's head, but he blocked it without even flinch "you think you're ready to kill a man?" asked Amethyst with a cool tone "well in about five seconds you're going to find out!!" Nicolay roared and swift his saber at Amethyst's chest but he blocked it, he swung it once more but it was no use, he blocked every single attack Nicolay tried to pull "you are indeed skillful dear boy, but you have a lot to learn" said Amethyst, Nicolay ducked and tried to hit Amethyst legs with a spin-and-hit attack but the mystery man was prepared, he jumped and dodged the saber and landed on Nicolay's head, Nicolay lost his grip and dropped his sword, Amethyst pointed his sword towards Nicolay's throat "fine! You've beaten me! After I'll find my father I will grant you my crown as promised, just let me go on my quest!" said Nicolay, swallowing his pride, Amethyst laughed and lowered his weapon "my dear boy, I have no lust for your crown, this was nothing but a test, and I'm actually glad you failed, your ego was always a disadvantage" "how do you know me?! Who are you?!" "I'm afraid that information will have to be delayed to our next meeting; I won't go so easy on you next time, farewell Nicolay" said Amethyst, vanishing through the morning fog.
As Nicolay got up his horse and left the abandoned city, thick tall trees as far as the eye can see were waiting for him just a mile away, he finally arrived Forest Shroob.
Nicolay got off his horse and entered the forest by foot; this was no place for the noble animal, even though it was just morning the treetops covered the sun almost completely, after an hour in the forest, seeking for any sign of his father, he noticed a weird greenish glow between the trees, as he got closer and closer the glow became stronger and stronger until he got to the source of it- a small lake filled with grass-green water, Nicolay was fascinated with it but then he noticed what was happening on the other side of the bank-a weird figure was dragging an unconscious man into the glowing water, Nicolay focused his eyes and could see the face of the drowning man-it was king Douglas, his father.
"Father!" called Nicolay, and without thinking twice he jumped in to the water, but it didn’t felt like water at all, Nicolay tried to swim towards his sinking father but as he kept swimming he felt weaker and weaker, as if his skin is trying to leap out of his body, he didn’t knew if he was dead yet but it sure felt like it, suddenly he felt he is being pulled up by something-is it the angle of death? Is he taking him to see his mother? Is father waiting for him?
"What do you think you're doing boy? This water is not for the living" said a deep voice, Nicolay turned to see who his savior was, and it was definitely not an angle.
It was a tall, bearded man, about forty years old wearing a blindfold, his face were colored blood-red "you're one of The Reds aren’t you?!" said Nicolay, pointing his sword toward him "why did you killed my father! Answer me you treacherous Red!"
"Without this treacherous Red your soul would be burning at the seventh floor of hell right now, so I suggest you'll think twice the next time you'll have the feeling to threaten me" he said with the same deep voice, Nicolay wasn’t convinced "I saw you dragging him to this death trap! I saw you!" his voice was shaking "your father and his troops were all killed two days ago by the beast, they fought bravely alongside my people, but now they are all gone... Nobody left but me… I thought the least I can do for them is bury them all in the lake of sorrow, it's where all of our finest men spend the last phase of their life, it is said that this holly water will clean their souls from sin" "so you just turned your back and ran away like a chicken while my father and your own kind fought to death? Some warrior you are" said Nicolay, unpacking the anger and sorrow that filled his heart; the sight of his all-mighty father sinking to his death will scar him forever "actually I ran to save my son who was on the other side of the forest only to find out the beast got to him first, and with zero time to grieve I had to save my self just because your father's last wish was that I'll teach you the way of The Reds, but now I can see it was all worth it, for you are such selfless rational man" said the man with a cynical tone, Nicolay felt deep remorse for what he said.
After Nicolay apologized he learned that the man's name was Nord, and he actually fought alongside the king in the great war with the Greece, apparently the king saved Nord's life in that battle "so what's with the blindfold?" asked Nicolay "during that battle twenty years ago a Greece scum caught me by surprise, I was an inexperienced soldier back then and lost both of my eyes for my arrogance" "I'm sorry to hear that" "don’t be, I learned to value my other senses for it, when you entered the lake I heard the water splash, when you were drowning I could feel your vibration on my face, and when you pulled your sword out I could smell the iron blade-losing my sight was indeed a gift as much is it was a curse" Nicolay was filled with deep appreciation for the old warrior "you know, people in Murdock say that The Reds sold us out back then during the war" said Nicolay, he couldn't imagine this noble man selling out "yea I heard that rumor, it was nothing but a poor plan of the Greece to turn Murdock and The Reds against each other, the knew how much we assisted you during the battle, but your father saw right through that plan, a very special man your father was…" Nicolay had a lot of questions, but before he could pronounce another syllable, a squeal filled the forest, Nicolay looked for its source but it find him first; a gigantic white crow with blood-red eyes was landing just in front of them, Nicolay's first instinct was to draw out his sword but it seems Nord had the situation under hand, Nord and the crow squealed to each other as if they were speaking to one another "come Nicolay, your first test will begin now" said Nord "a test? What do you mean?" "Your father wanted me to train you, and in order to beat the beast you need to train at three tests, and the first one will start right now" said Nord "me? Fighting the monster that killed your entire army and half of England? This is madness!" "Your father trusts you and your fearless heart, you are now the last hope of human kind, this crow will lead you to the last place the beast demolished you're your mission is to come back with all the information that you can about this mysterious behemoth" "that’s it? Sound simple enough" Nicolay got up the crows back "I'm glad you think that, oh, and one more thing-" Nord covered Nicolay's eyes with his hands "you need to do it blindly" the crow leaped to the sky and left the forest, leaving Nicolay's eyesight behind.
After about half an hour of flying, the crow landed, Nicolay could feel the warm sun on his face-it was daylight, he slowly got off the white crow and slowly made his way forward, after a few steps he bumped into something that was lying on the ground, at first Nicolay thought it to be a pile of raggedy clothing, but the clothing had faces and bodies attached to them-Nicolay's mouth went dry, did Nord really send him to a mission? Or is it actually a death trap?
Foot steps. Yes he is definitely hearing foot steps. Is this the beast? Is it going to rip Nicolay to shreds like he did to all those people? No, these steps are of a human, a small one, could be a kid. Nicolay cling to the nearest wall and tried to focus on the sound, he followed blindly after the steps, suddenly the steps were going fester and fester-he was noticed, the man was running and so did Nicolay, doing his best not to bump into anything. A door. A heavy door was opening and the steps were gone, it opened again and voices of heavier steps were sound "away demon! Leave this place and never return, for you stand upon the house of god!" said a deep shaky voice "I'm not here to harm you brother, I came from far to collect information about the beast!" said Nicolay "if your words are true then you may enter this church, but I must warn you that this place is protected from any kind of dark creatures" Nicolay paced forward until he heard the door closing behind him "so you speak the truth! It is so good to see another human after that horrible massacre, now it's just me and the children I look after, Niamey here just went to find food for us and then she saw you! The demon could not touch us here in the dwellings of the lord" said the man "so.. Do you know anything about the beast mister…?" "The name is Reverend Johnson, and yes I know quite a lot about the beast, for I am the holder of the book of prophesy" said Johnson proudly "our story begins a long, long time ago within the halls of hell, the fallen angle Lucifer was trying to find a way to leave that cursed prison, for he was sentenced by god to live an eternity at hellfire, and then a prophesy came to his ear, that during the year of triangle, the year 666, the gates of hell will be opened for a shot period of time, then the devil started to built a behemoth, a demon of the shadows that will serve him at earth, that will make room for all his minions, that will bring chaos and disarray to the leaving. But when the beast was finally born there was a flaw-the devil could not control it-it started to make the hell collapse into itself, until even the prince of darkness himself could not destroy it, therefore he trapped it inside an amulet, the devil was safe, but the gates of hell were closed once more" said Johnson, you could tell he was waiting a long time to tell that story "so.. How is the beast here on earth?" asked Nicolay "I'm afraid that the continuance of the prophesy was not given to me, but was hidden somewhere in the west, within the cave of Spore" said the reverend "I must warn you though, no one ever returned from the caves. No one"
After Nicolay left the church he got up his crow "umm, to the caves of spore please" said Nicolay and felt dumb, but surprisingly the crow starched his wings and leaped to the sky, after about an hour they landed on a very rocky ground, Nicolay slowly walked forward until he found the entrance of the cave, when he got in he heard Nord's voice speaking to him "your second test begins now prince, may the gods help you" 'Nord! Are you here?!' Nicolay shouted, but he could not here his own voice 'what the hell? You made me deaf to?! Oh my god..' Nicolay continued on his way in the cave as frustration and anger filled him, healthy men tried to find the book and failed, how could a deaf blind guy make it? Suddenly the ground was getting softer and softer, Nicolay ducked and touched the ground-it was quicksand, another man last focused with his senses might have noticed it, and indeed as Nicolay tried to go around it he smelled the stanch of death rising from its depth.
After a while of walking, Nicolay was standing before a very tough decision-the cave was splitting into two different passages-where should he go? There must be a way to find out, he stood before every entrance and tried to find what's different between them 'hmm… in this one the wind is blowing towards me, that must mean it doesn't have an exit, in this one the wind is blowing inside but it smell like fur balls, well I might as well go inside of this one I guess' he felt the walls, they were slippery, unlike before, it seems that this part of the cave is mush bigger here, as if it was storing something big.. Really big.
The whole place started to shake, what ever it was, it just got up, but it was waiting for its prey to make the first move, and with the sound of a braking twig the beast attacked, but Nicolay was prepared- he slashed his sword over the beast before it got to him, the cave was shaking again-now the beast angry, the vibrations of the cave made Nicolay lose balance he tripped between two boulders and before he could got up the behemoth lope on him-he was trapped, the beast was consistently trying to bite off his head, and with every bite it go closer and closer to its target, dropping big piles of saliva at Nicolay's face, but Nicolay's mind was clear, as the beast took another bite he shoved his sword between its jaws, the behemoth pulled its head out and Nicolay leaped after it, the animal was going wild and little bits of the sealing started to fall, now Nicolay was the hunter, he followed the beast breath and when he found its furry mouth he forced its jaws to collapse on each other, the beast fell on its side, Nicolay's sword sticking awkwardly from its upper jaw, and as Nicolay pulled out his bloody sword from the cold beasts body, he could see a great white light filling the darkness, he could now see his attacker-an ten feet tall tiger, his fur as white as moonlight and his fangs were blacker then death, Nicolay ran towards the source of the light, he could hear the sound of birds, he could see the morning sunrise!
He was finally out of the caves, bereaving that fresh air felt like a dream, but he mustn't lose focus, for the second part of the prophesy have yet to revile itself.
Nicolay looked around him; he was standing at the middle of a big round room that had no sealing and on the floor was a painting of an eagle starching out his wings "welcome to your final test Nicolay" said a metallic voice, Nicolay quickly turned around "Amethyst! Where is the second book of prophesy?" Amethyst jiggled and pointed towards his head "it's all in here, but in order to gain that information you'll have to fight and defeat me in battle without the most precious thing to all warriors" said Amethyst calmly, they took away his eyesight and his hearing, what more could they take? But when amethyst snipped his fingers it all became clear-Nicolay's sword vanished into thin air. Before Nicolay had any time to adjust the situation Amethyst swarmed at him, his sword stayed as long as it was before, he tried to slash Nicolay but Nicolay was quick, he dodged every attack, the vibrations of the spear were giving away Amethyst's moves, Nicolay ducked while his opponent tried cut off his head, then he tried to attack his legs but Nicolay could predict it, he jumped and kicked Amethyst's head and watched him fall to the ground "think you're ready to kill a man?" asked Nicolay, Amethyst laughed and jumped back to the battle, he used his long sword as a pole and jumped right over Nicolay's head, he landed and swift his sword, Nicolay wasn’t so lucky this time, and the indigo sword sliced his arm, the blade was as sharp as a diamond, Nicolay roared, he tried to pull the kick-and-spin drill, amethyst jumped over it and tried to land on Nicolay's face, little did he know that was exactly what he wanted; Nicolay caught his leg and smashed him into the ground, Nicolay took Amethyst's sword and pointed it towards its owner's neck "ha! Very impressive boy! You are indeed your father's son" said Amethyst "cut the small talk, tell me about the prophesy! How did the beast got to earth?" said Nicolay while he helped Amethyst to stand up "very well then, you definitely earned it; it is said that the devil did not gave up his plans to dominate the world, he decided to give the beast another chance to prove itself to him during the next year of triangle, exactly 666 years later" said Amethyst "the year 1332" said Nicolay with a hollowed tone "precisely, but this time Satan created a weakness to the monster, an Achilles' heel, so he could control it incase it will try to rebel once again-a pentagram located on the beast's back" explained Amethyst "so what the hack do I have to do with the monster, Why me?" asked Nicolay "the prophesy tells of a savior, a man whose heart knows no fear, the third generation of royal blood, the only man who could complete the three tests, and I'm proud to say that man is you, son" Amethyst pulled up his hamlet, reviling a crooked nose, brown eyes and a short grey beard "f-father? No, this cant be, I saw you die! I watched your body sank with my bare eyes!" said Nicolay, his heart beating fester then ever "I'm afraid you're not mistaken, when my soul was sentenced in the kingdom of the sky, they had a lot of problem assigning me to the other life-in one hand, they knew my heart is good and right, but I spilled way to much blood in my days, therefore they were willing to make a pact-if I help training the protector of mankind they would spare my soul and will open the gates of heaven before me, and when I discovered that the messiah is from my own flesh and blood-well I cant tell you how proud I was" king Douglas pet his son's shoulder, Nicolay eyes were wet "well, time is short Nicolay, I believe the beast is on it's way to Murdock" "Murdock? How am I supposed to get there so quickly?" the king whistled and five seconds later a beautiful, gigantic indigo eagle appeared from the hollowed sealing "this will bring you to Murdock in about half an hour" said the king "oh, and take this as a token from the gods, we'll be watching you" the king's armor faded from his body onto Nicolay "you're Amethyst now, the servant of the gods, farewell my boy" "goodbye father, I'll miss you" the two hugged for the last time, tears were running on their cheeks "I'm coming Gloria" said the king as he faded away into air, filled with his father words Nicolay jumped on the eagle and left the ground, watching the grassy mountains become smaller and smaller, he was very tense, the most significant fight of his life was about to begin.
"Archers-fire!" called Thomas as the horrid behemoth was getting closer and closer to the city gates, the arrows were nothing but feathers to the creature "catapult- launch!" he called loudly, but there was no use, it didn't even slowed the beast down, it was at least twenty feet long, it skin was stained with the blood of the innocents, ten horns to the beast and seven dragon-like heads, each has the same vicious expression and hollowed yellow eyes, Thomas felt deep frustration that the king or the prince weren’t here to take control over this operation, he fell on the ground and started to prey for a savior, and the gods answered his prayers; emerging from the clouds, a warrior in an indigo metallic armor riding a purple eagle hurried to enter the scene, the chimera must have sensed him because it stopped walking towards the castle and all seven heads were trying to locate the resource for this great power, the paladin used this element of surprise and dived head on into it's back, all he needed was one hit on the pentagram and the beast is gone.. But it wasn’t as easy as it sounded, as he just got close to the beast's back all seven heads ganged-up on him, almost swallowing him and his eagle full, Nicolay understood that in order to get to the pentagram he needed to rely on his head, or maybe… on their heads, he dived between two of the heads, making them to gore and stick their horned foreheads into one another, Nicolay took the opportunity to slash their throats with his enormous sword, the two decapitated heads became black smoke and vanished to the air-and then there were five… Nicolay rotated around one of the beast's neck, making another head to chase him around it, and before the two heads knew what was happening they were tied, Nicolay poke the two heads and watched as they vanished like the last two, but this attack wasn't as successful as the last one, one of the three remaining heads bitted off Nicolay's eagle, Nicolay was falling to the ground but one of the heads got to him first, the beast masticated Nicolay, but his armor was protected by the gods, therefore it's teeth couldn’t get all the way through it, like an empty barrel in the ocean, Nicolay quickly squeezed himself into the monster's mouth, it was hot as hellfire and smelled like coal "why so serious?!" roared Nicolay, slitting the monster from the inside, the head vanished and Nicolay fell on the ground, his sword lying five feet away from him and his left arm was definitely broken , the two of the remaining heads dived towards him, Nicolay remembered his training, he could feel when the heads are going to strike, and just then he jumped on the beast's head and poked its eyes with his fists, its eye juices scorched Nicolay's armor a bit, he was convinced that without this armor his arms would melt, the beast shook its head blindly, and just before it evaporated it threw Nicolay into the air, this is it, thought Nicolay, there is no way he could survive a twenty feet fall, with or without his armor, but then another bird emerged from the sky- a white crow, and on its back was riding a tall bearded man, the crow dived and rescued the knight just before he smashed into the ground "is everything okay Nicolay?" "Nord! You came!" "I never miss a good battle" "except from that one time…" Nicolay teased, Nord snored "Ha! Look at us making small talk while earth is at stake… It seemed you dropped something boy, hold on!" the crow dived and Nicolay regained his weapon "Nord! Drop me on its back and make it busy!" Nord did as Nicolay pleased, the one headed monster didn’t even noticed Nicolay on its back, it was to busy with Nord and his bird, Nicolay slowly crawled on the monster's back, he could see the pentagram that was tattooed on it's back, but as Nicolay got to close to the mark the beast sensed his presence, Nicolay wrapped his hands on his spear, the behemoth dived towards the paladin, Nicolay raised his sword, the bloody teeth were ready for another meal, Nicolay stabbed the pentagram right in the middle, great light came from the pentagram and the its body evaporated into thick black smoke, and the beast was no more.
Six years have passed since that legendary fight cities were rebuilt and repopulated, and the earth was once again a safe place.
Even though Thomas was appalled with the idea, Nord became the minister of army, but what could Thomas do? It is the will of King Nicolay and what he says goes. Murdock continued to prosper and very seldom have they heard from the Greece.
No body really knew if that was the last the world will ever hear about the beast, but the next year of triangle will be at 1998, and who the hell cares about that era, right?
